Continue the Conversation
Organizations and groups are encouraged to take the conversation further to advance their commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
The purpose of this page is provide prospective organizations with an opportunity to register and complete a train-the-facilitator training.
Dates and times are provided for train-the-facilitator for prospective facilitators and organizations committed to continuing the conversation.

Purpose and Outcomes
Organizations or groups interested in debriefing or continuing the conversation are invited to facilitate a post-event conversation within their respective organization.
A facilitated conversation workshops will be held independent of the Conversation with Michelle Alexander and managed by Workshop Facilitator(s), a member of the organization. Dates, times, and virtual modality are at the discretion of organizations and facilitators.
Organizations will create and manage their own conversation using facilitator's guide developed by Institutional Inclusive Excellence - Student Initiatives. IIE-SI will offer several opportunities for train-the-facilitators, curriculum, and materials.
Workshops are guided on the principles and practices rooted in Restorative Justice Circles. These workshops are not restorative justice circles.
Intended Outcomes of Facilitated Conversations
- Debrief Michelle Alexander's remarks.
- Engage in discussion on how faculty, staff, and/or community members can foster social justice in their class, office, and/or community.
- Engage in discussion on how faculty, staff, and/or community members co-create opportunities and practices for achieving diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
