LGBTQIA+ and Allies
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual and aromantic (LGBTQiA+) students, staff and faculty are valued and affirmed members of Texas State. As an underrepresented community, LGBTQiA+ persons contribute to and participate in the diversity of Texas State University.
Since 2000, Texas State has created and established programs to promote awareness about sexual and gender identities through education and training. Our belief is that LGBTQiA+ persons excel as members of Texas State when their full identities are included and affirmed. Information on this page is provided with the intention of promoting visible support, increasing safe spaces, challenging oppression (homophobia, transphobia and heterosexism), and improving the knowledge and understanding of Texas State Allies.

It can be empowering to join with others to discuss the impact that your sexual, romantic, and/or gender identities have on crucial aspects of your life. This group will allow members to share life experiences, examine issues related to LGBTQIA+ identity, explore and define personal identity, improve relationships with others, and be part of an inclusive and supportive environment.
