Student Community of Progressive Empowerment

S.C.O.P.E supports and serves undocumented students.  It is a safe space that protects students from being mistreated because of their undocumented or DACAmented (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status.  SCOPE works together to create a community that will guide and empower members through a successful college experience while providing them with the necessary life skills to prepare them for a post college transition.

SCOPE was founded in Spring 2015 by undocumented and Ally students.  This is the first student organization officially recognized by Texas State to serve and support undocumented and DACAmented students.

1.  Serve as a safe space for undocumented and DACAmented students at Texas State.

2.  Solicit and share information related to immigration, DACA, clinics, legislation, and college education process.

3.  Establish a network of supporters and resources.

4.  Promote personal and professional development to overcome the many issues faced by undocumented and DACAmented students.
