The Veterans Virtual Salute recognizes the academic achievements and contributions of student veterans graduating from Texas State.

While the Veterans Virtual Salute does not replace the Veterans Graduation or Official Texas State Commencements, SDI and friends want to pay tribute to you and honor this important and momentous academic achievement.

 
This program is supported by the  Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion, Vice President for Student Affairs, Veterans Initiative, Veterans Affairs Office, Veterans Initiative  and Veterans Alliance of Texas State.
 
Please complete the information fields below to process your registration for the upcoming Veterans Virtual Salute.  After completing and submitting registration form, a copy of the form will be sent to the Texas State Email account you have provided.

Student Veterans at Round Rock Campus
You are welcomed to pick up your graduation cords beginning May 01-08, 2020) at the Round Rock Campus. (Williamson County Home Order in effect until April 30, 2020)

Video Upload Guidelines

Instructions to Submit Video/Photos:

  • Take video with your device or social media platform.
  • Save to your device.
  • Label file with your TXST NetId and Last Name (i.e. abc1234-Cat).
  • Upload video or photos to Texas State File Transfer.
    • Texas State File Transfer allows you to securely send files to on campus, and to those outside of Texas State University. Files are encrypted during the upload and download process.
    • It is also easier to save video to your phone and then access the File Transfer website from you device so that you can upload file strait from your phone.
    • Share File to jjr112 (Jaime Rodriguez, Coordinator for Veteran Programs)
  • If you are not submitting a video or using a social media platform, attach your photos in the registration below.

 

Video Guidelines

  1. Videos cannot exceed more than one (1) minute long.
    1. Video can be created through phone camera or social media platform (i.e. TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.)
  2. Students must include:
    1. Name, Major and Place you call Home
  3. Students may speak on or include through text the following:
    1. A word of gratitude to family or loved ones.  
    2. Reflection on their time at Texas State. You can include quotes or valuable lessons learned from faculty, staff and students.
    3. Share what this accomplishment means to you.
    4. Share what does the spirit of being a Bobcat mean to them especially during this time of change.
  4. Students are encouraged to:
    1. Use their full creativity range when creating their video. Let the video showcase who you (the student) are.
    2. Wear commencement regalia (cap and gown), TXST apparel, organization garments, honor cords/medals/sashes, and other honorary artifacts.
    3. Practice decorum. Any video with inappropriate language or behavior will not be included in the salute.
